Search London – International SEO and How to Build Great Links

I held my latest Search London event  this Tuesday, September 18th at the Theodore Bullfrog pub in Charing Cross. We had 215 people RSVP and had over 90 attend the meetup which was the highest number for Search London to date. Thank you everyone for coming and also for helping to grow the Search London member numbers to 938 (as of today).

We were lucky to have two fantastic speakers at the meetup:

1) Kelvin Newman, Strategy Director at SiteVisibility

Kelvin spoke about “How to build great links”.

We all know Google love links but how do you actually get them? Building great content, that is how.  Kelvin explained the need for a savvy yet practical approach to build links to your site to ensure you are staying ahead of the competiton.

Kelvin is well known in the industry, and has delivered presentations across the UK & Europe at events like A4U, SMX London and SASCON.  He has just organised the latest BrightonSEO which had the most number of attendees at his event. Kelvin’s slides have been uploaded onto slideshare.

2) Peter Handley, SEO Director at theMediaFlow.

Pete spoke about How to use rel=”alternate” to prevent International content duplication issues, and other International SEO Tips. Pete also wrote a blog post about this topic on the MediaFlow blog which has since received many comments and tweets and the busiest traffic post he has had in one day.

Peter joined theMediaFlow in late last year and has over 6 years’ experience in search engine optimisation. He has worked on a wide range of B2B and B2C  campaigns in a number of sectors including, medical, insurance and financial, email marketing and ecommerce stores including fashion and footwear, at regional, national and international levels.  Pete has shared his presentation on slideshare.

Thank you to Ben McKay for asking MoneySupermarket to sponsor the bar.
