Top things to do before you are 30

I am hitting the big 30 next month and it got me thinking of the list people write containing things they want to do before they turn 30.

Here are the top 5 things to do before you are 30

1) Travel
You will never have the time once you get married with all the kids and co to go to those non child friendly places you always wanted to visit (most places outside of a kids club are not child friendly). So do not have any regrets, book that trip to South America, or South Africa or even the Antarctic if that is where you have wanted to go.

2) Invest

The earlier you invest the better, the longer you have time to grow your money. You can afford to take risks as you have longer to get it back should the investments go down. Now with the credit crunch, you should speak to a bank manager especially if you have some spare cash not making any money in a low interest ISA.

3) Go to Uni
If you want to get the most out of those 3 or 4 years, I would go before you hit 30. Most people in the UK go straight after school so they are quite young. I had the best time, but I would not go back to do an undergraduate degree now. The next formal qualification is an MBA, anyone want to lend me 60k?

4) Don’t get married
I know a bit controversial. I am only saying this to those who feel pressurised to get married before they hit 30. They may be seeing their friends tie the knot and are scared they will be last ones of the shelf. I have noticed lots of independent, fun girls turn into desperate time bombs, hoping to bag any man they can before they turn 30. Please don’t drop your standards and settle for just anybody so you can have a bit of bling on your finger. Remember, you should love someone for who they are, not what you can change them into.

5) Challenge yourself

Do a physical activity that you have wanted to do and will not be able to when you are older. I always wanted to run the marathon, I don’t think I am quite ready for that, but I did run the British 10k 2 years ago and do about 5 10ks a year.

I will be adding a few more thing on what to do before you are 30 before I hit the big 3 0 next month.
